Frequently asked questions

Seventeen straight answers about difficult files, workable routes and how the loan ends.

Before you enquire

Does enquiring affect my credit file?

No. Asking which route could work involves no credit check. A check only happens later, with your consent, if you choose to proceed with a specific lender.

Will my details be sent to a lot of lenders?

No. We don't push enquiries out to a crowd of lenders. A specialist reads your file and matches it to the one route and lender that suit it.

Who will I speak to?

A real lending specialist who has read your enquiry. They'll call to understand the full picture before suggesting anything.

Why do you ask me to fill in the form accurately?

Because the route depends on the details: property, turnover, tax position, credit history and amount. Accurate answers mean the first route we suggest is the right one.

Eligibility and difficult files

Can I get a business loan after a bank declined me?

Often, yes. Specialist lenders use different rules. Property-secured lenders lean on equity and the exit; cash-flow lenders lean on recent bank statements. The right route depends on what you can offer instead.

Do you consider ATO debt?

Yes, case by case. Many loans are arranged specifically to pay the ATO, with the payment made directly at settlement. Lodgements being up to date helps a great deal.

What about defaults or court judgments?

They're considered case by case. Paid and explained listings are far less of a barrier than open ones, and property-secured routes are the most forgiving.

My business is less than two years old. Is that a problem?

It narrows the options rather than closing them. Property security, a guarantor or several months of steady deposits can stand in for a longer track record.

My tax returns and financials are behind. Can I still apply?

Often, yes. Specialist lenders can work from bank statements, lodged BAS, management accounts and an accountant's letter while you catch up.

Amounts, security and cost

How much can I borrow?

Property-secured business loans run from $20,000 to $5,000,000 against residential or commercial property. Unsecured, cash-flow and line-of-credit options typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.

Do I need property?

Not always. Without property, the main routes are unsecured cash-flow loans, guarantor support, invoice-backed funding and equipment-based options. Property usually allows larger amounts and is more forgiving of credit history.

What interest rate will I pay?

We don't publish rates. Every loan is priced on its own circumstances: the security, the file, the term and the exit. A specialist explains the full cost in dollars before you commit.

Can the loan pay creditors directly?

Yes. Payouts to the ATO, merchant cash advance providers, online lenders and suppliers are commonly made directly at settlement.

Exits and after the loan

Why do you focus so much on the exit?

Because short-term and specialist funding should be temporary. A written exit, whether refinance, sale or trading, keeps the loan the right size and length and gives the lender confidence.

What if my exit is delayed?

Tell your lender early, with evidence for a revised date. Options include an extension, a refinance elsewhere, a partial repayment or a sale of another asset.

Can I move to a bank later?

That's often the plan. Use the term to bring lodgements current, clear tax debt and build clean repayment history, then refinance to cheaper money.

Is this for personal borrowing?

No. Everything here is for business purposes only.
